The music of singer-songwriter and guitarist Mark Moroney is both intriguing and enriching, with influences stemming from Jazz, Blues, Folk and pop. Like his personality , his music is intimate, grounded and passionate, enticing listeners into the emotion of the song.

Noosa Community Radio 101.3FM wrote,

“His melodies are catchy, his lyrics insightful, and his voice is compelling”.

Growing up in the small town of Palmwoods in Australia is where Mark first discovered his love of music. Over the coming years Marks skills as a musician and songwriter developed, performing within many musical contexts and groups, along the way supporting artists such as Renee Geyer, Jeff Lang, David Ross Macdonald (The Waifs) and Joe Camilleri & The Black Sorrows. Mark released his debut album “The Platform” late 2006 and has since enjoyed frequent airplay across Australia and New Zealand. He is also currently a student at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane majoring in jazz guitar.

Tim Finnigan....Active Image

Also appearing on the album and regularly in live performances with Mark is double bass player Tim Finnigan. The musical journey of well known and respected Sunshine Coast bassist Tim Finnigan began during the folk and blues revival of the 60’s. His simple melodic style has seen him used by many musicians over the years and enabled him to freelance in many musical genres. Tim’s love of all music and an open-minded desire to keep learning and exploring new musical horizons has enabled him to tour extensively in many musical contexts throughout his career thus producing a very seasoned instrumentalist.

Mark and Tim recently appeared at the Bay Of Islands Jazz and Blues Festival in New Zealand where they received an overwhelming response from audiences and have consequently been invited back next year.

Together on the Platform……..

This collaboration is an eclectic crossover of contemporary folk, blues and jazz. Mark’s acoustic based songs are a melodic interaction between vocals, guitar and Tim’s double bass, highlighting the originality and wide audience appeal of this music.
